Publications The Association of Latina and Latino Anthropologists publishes an Anthropology News column under the auspices of the American Anthropological Association. Anthropology News , published nine times a year, is but one venue for publicizing ALLA initiatives and business. If you have an announcement or column contribution, please remit your submission to the ALLA Section News Co-Editor at news@aaalla.org . Submissions must be received at least two months prior to the AN issue within which you would like to see the contribution published.
ALLA continues to solicit the submission of recently published books by or about Latinas and Latinos for review in our annual Book Awards competition. If your press has recently published such a book, and you would like to have your work considered for review, please remit four copies for review to our Awards Chairperson (see Awards section of this website for further information).
For the 2005 Awards cycle, please address submissions and queries to Vilma Santiago-Irizarry, Anthropology/Latino Studies, Cornell University, 265 McGraw Hall, Ithaca, NY 14853. Email: vs23@cornell.edu The Elusive ALLA Anthology From year to year ALLA members and officers have proposed the publication of an anthology of writings by the membership. Just two years ago, it was proposed that such a volume would draw on papers presented at a recent AAA conference. Other proposals have posited an anthology that brings together past publications by ALLA members. If you would like to contribute time, resources, or scholarship to just such an effort, please notify any one or more of the officers of the Association at our next Business Meeting scheduled for the fall meetings or contact president@aaalla.org and courtesy copy the webeditor@aaalla.org at your earliest convenience. We would very much like to put this quest to rest.
